    MEXICO, MO – Saturday night Katelyn Lewis of Lake St. Louis won the Miss Missouri pageant held at the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico Missouri.   • Cardinals Hall of Famer Red Schoendienst dies at age 95

    ST. LOUIS-  Cardinal great Red Schoendienst passed away Wednesday at the age of 95. The news was broken to Cardinal Nation by former Cardinals and KMOX Cardinals announcer Mike Shannon. Schoendienst was born in Germantown Illinois, just 40 miles from downtown St. Louis. He was one of seven children. Early on he showed promise as a baseball player.   • Police identify teen killed in Spanish Lake

    SPANISH LAKE, MO – St. Louis County Police have identified a teen shot and killed Friday in Spanish Lake. Investigators have identified the victim as 18-year-old Tahon Williams of Spanish Lake. Police say they have taken into custody a 26-year-old man as a person of interest but no charges have been filed. Police say he was an acquaintance of the victim.

  • Police close part of Chesterfield Airport Road for suspicious package

    CHESTERFIELD, MO – The Chesterfield Police Department has closed Chesterfield Airport Road near Arnage Boulevard because of a suspicious package.  The closure was done around 8 pm as a precaution when the package was discovered on the parking lot of the Fox & Hound.   • 1 person injured in Cahokia apartment fire

    CAHOKIA, IL – Fire broke out around 8:30 pm in Cahokia Illinois at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Camp Jackson Road.  The fire department tells Fox 2 that the fire started in a kitchen of an apartment. Officials say a woman was injured and was transported to a St. Louis hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – A rookie St. Louis City police officer who just graduated from the academy last month is recovering after he was shot during a struggle with a suspect.   • Police investigating homicide on Whittier

    ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – Police are  investigating a homicide that occurred on Whittier near Labadie Avenue around 3 am Saturday morning. Officer responding to the scene found a man unconscious and suffering gunshots wounds to head, cheek and leg. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

  • Wentzville school bus driver facing child pornography charges

    ST. CHARLES, MO (KPLR) – A school bus driver in the Wentzville School District is facing child pornography charges. Our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch are reporting that 33-year-old Jeffrey Miller is facing a charge of promoting child pornography. Miller had been a substitute bus driver for the school district until Monday. The district removed Miller from his duties after finding out about the allegations.   • Hazelwood man charged in the death of a bicyclist

    BRIDGETON, MO (KPLR) – A Hazelwood man is accused of reckless driving that caused the death of a bicyclist earlier this year. 41-year-old William Goad is charged with a felony of involuntary manslaughter in the first degree. Police say Goad was speeding and driving into bright sunlight in January, when he struck and killed Duane Johnson at Gallatin and Gist in Bridgeton.

  • 2-year-old grazed by bullet in north St. Louis

    ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – A two year old was shot in north St. Louis while standing in the front yard of a home on Nassau Drive at Jordan Street. Police say the shots were fired from a burgundy Pontiac Grand Prix. The boy suffered a graze wound to the back of his head. A 21-year-old man who was also in the front yard was not hit, and drove the boy to the hospital.
