  • Cahokia storage facility fire called suspicious

    CAHOKIA, Ill. –  A storage facility caught fire in Cahokia. The fire started around 2:00 a.m. at the Gillan Outlet Storage facility on Doris Avenue. Firefighters were concerned because the fire was only about ten yards from the gas pumps at a service station next door. Investigators are calling the fire suspicious since there was no power to that storage unit. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

  • Police looking for person who fled traffic stop in Collinsville

    COLLINSVILLE-  Collinsville police say the individual who led to a law enforcement search in Caseyville  Wednesday morning remains missing. The incident began around 12:45 a.m. when police tried to stop the driver on East Brookhaven Drive, police say. The driver refused to stop, then hopped out the vehicle and fled on foot and ran into the woods, according to police. They were joined by K-9 units to help in the search. That person is still being sought.

  • 2 families displaced after fire destroys East St. Louis duplex

    EAST ST. LOUIS – Two families have been displaced after an early morning fire in East St. Louis. The fire started around 2:00 a.m. in a duplex on North 27th Street at Ridge Avenue. According to one resident, they woke up to popping noises. Fire crews on scene were able to put out the fire after some short time. Everyone got out safely. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

  • Glasgow Village home catches fire just after residents move out

    ST. LOUIS – Fire damaged a home in Glasgow Village overnight. The fire broke out just before midnight in the basement of the house on Grampian Road. Neighbors say the people who lived there had just moved out, no one was home at the time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

  • Early morning fire under investigation

    ST. LOUIS – An early morning fire damaged home in south St. Louis near Gravois. It happened a row house on Utah Street and Minnesota Avenue just after midnight Firefighters were able to knock out fast-moving flames in about 20 minutes. We are told the blaze was shooting through the roof. No one was home at the time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

  • Motorcyclist killed in crash along St. Louis Riverfront

    T. LOUIS – A motorcyclist dies in a crash along the St. Louis Riverfront Friday morning. The accident happened just before 12:30 a.m. at Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard and Chouteau Avenue. According to police, the man was thrown from his bike after colliding with another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police have not released the name of the victim, pending notification of family members. KPLR11 will update this story as new information becomes available.

  • Man robbed at gunpoint while walking to his car

    ST. LOUIS  -A man is robbed at gunpoint around 2:30 a.m. on Friday. Police say the incident happened on Westminster Place near Kingsbury Avenue in west St. Louis. The victim told police he was walking to his car when a suspect came up to him, pointed a handgun and demanded cash. The thief got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and the man’s backpack. The victim was not injured. Anyone with information is asked to call  Crime Stoppers.

  • Toddler accidentally shoots herself in chest inside Cahokia home

    CAHOKIA, Ill. – Police say a toddler is injured after finding a loaded handgun and shooting herself in the chest. The incident happened at her home around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning on Andrews Drive in Cahokia.   • Police investigate shooting in Bevo Mill neighborhood that left two injured

    ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating a shooting in south St. Louis City. Officers were called to the 4000 block of Varrelmann Ave just before 5:30 a.m. Two victims, both adult males, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. One was shot in the stomach, and the second victim was shot in the foot. Both were conscious and breathing when taken to the hospital.   • Man taken to hospital after being shot in East St. Louis

    ST. LOUIS –  A man is in the hospital after being shot in East St. Louis overnight. Police say the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on Gaty Avenue at North 24th Street. Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital. Illinois State Police and their canine unit are helping the East St. Louis Police with this investigation.

  • Woman injured when police pursuit ends in crash on I-70

    ST. LOUIS – A woman was injured when a police pursuit ended in a crash in north St. Louis County. The crash happened on Interstate 70 at Jennings Station Road just before 2:45 Friday morning. We are told police attempted to pull over the woman when she lost control and hit a light pole. Authorities have not released any additional information surrounding the chase or any arrest.
