ST. LOUIS – St. Louis County police are asking for the public's help as they search for a missing 28-year-old woman. They said it seems totally out of character for the young woman not be in contact with friends or family.

Detectives with the St. Louis County Crimes Against Persons unit said Jennifer Rothwell has been missing since early Tuesday morning.

Rothwell left her home in the 12600 block of Northwinds Drive in central St. Louis County and hasn’t returned.

Neighbors were concerned after they learned of Rothwell's disappearance.

“It’s scary. Where did it happen?” said Ronald Sachtleben, who lives in the neighborhood.

Rothwell's 2011 Hyundai Sonata was discovered near Olive and Fee Fee roads, which is about two miles from her home. The gas station nearby provided police detectives with surveillance video.

Rothwell works for a DuPont subsidiary. The company issued the following statement on Wednesday: “The safety and wellbeing of our employees is our highest priority. We are aware of the situation and are cooperating with local authorities in their ongoing investigation.”

Police described Rothwell as 5’6″ tall and weighing 150 pounds. She has long, light brown curly hair. She was last seen wearing business attire.

Police haven’t reported any further details regarding her disappearance. However, family members told police Jennifer has no history of leaving and is normally in contact with family and friends on a daily basis.

Anyone with information about Rothwell’s whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement at 911 or call the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.
