Detention hearing Friday for man accused of killing 15-year-old Sentonio Cox

ST. LOUIS –  The man charged in the murder of 15-year-old Sentonio Cox faces a detention hearing  Friday.

Joseph Renick, 54, is charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police say Renick shot Cox as the boy was backing away from him with his hands raised. His body was found in a vacant lot on Vermont Avenue.

Renick is being held on $500,000 dollars cash bail.
