Fans pumped after Blues win game 4 of Stanley Cup Finals

ST. LOUIS - The scene inside and outside the Enterprise Center on Monday night was electric as the St. Louis Blues defeated the Boston Bruins by a score of 4-2 in St. Louis.   Fans filled Market Street between Tucker and 14th Streets for a watch party before the game.  One of the fans who attended the party came all the way from Amsterdam.

Gerard Bos became a St. Louis Blues fan because he liked the team’s logo.  When St. Louis fans learned about his passion for the team they donated money for him to make the trip to St. Louis.  An anonymous donor bought him a ticket to Game 4.

“The people are so kind and generous, I guess they like it that I’m here,” he said.  “That says more about the people of St. Louis than it says about me.”

Another St. Louis Blues fan made the trip from Pittsburgh to St. Louis.  Kathy Golik is with Other Half Entertainment and was Laura Branigan’s business manager.  Branigan’s version of Gloria has become the victory song for the St. Louis Blues.  A few players saw fans in Philadelphia celebrating to the song at a club and decided to start playing the song after they won.  That’s when the St. Louis Blues season turned around.

“That’s what I love,” she said.  “The best part about it is it wasn’t the result of a marketing campaign or anything like that.  It just sprang from that story in Philadelphia to the Blues players bringing it back here.”

Golik and Bos said they plan on staying in St. Louis for as long as the St. Louis Blues dream season continues.
