ST. LOUIS – Former St. Louis Mayor and Missouri Governor David Francis was honored Sunday. A bronze statue was unveiled today in his honor in Francis Park.

The park bears his name after he gifted the City of St. Louis 60 acres of land as a Christmas gift.

Francis was the last U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Empire in 1916-1917.

The statue is created by world-famous sculptor Harry Weber.
