Excessive heat warning issued for St. Louis through Monday

ST. LOUIS - The National Weather Service in Saint Louis has issued an excessive heat warning until Monday at 8 p.m. for St. Louis City and surrounding counties. The rest of the St. Louis region is under a heat advisory through 8 p.m. Monday.

Temperatures will climb to the mid to upper 90°s each afternoon and evening. When combining these hot temperatures with dewpoints in the 70°s, heat index readings will be 100° to 110°.

Take extra precautions if you work or plan to spend time outside. Make sure you drink a lot of water and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing that will reflect sunlight, rather than absorb it. Also, make sure you have shade nearby.
