Two adults, two children wounded in north city shooting

ST. LOUIS - Two adults and two children were wounded in a shooting late Friday afternoon in north St. Louis.

According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police, the shooting occurred around 6:50 p.m. in the 4800 block of Farlin Avenue, located in the Penrose neighborhood.

The victims were shot while exiting a vehicle. They were brought to area hospitals. The children were boys, ages 5 and 13. The 5-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and the 13-year-old was shot in the arm and chest. Both were said to be in serious condition.

A 28-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and listed in stable condition. A 30-year-old man was shot in the wrist and listed in stable condition.

Investigators said two black vehicles--an SUV and a sedan--were involved in the shooting. Police have not determined a possible motive.

A fifth person was with the victims at the time of the shooting but was not injured, police said.
