City detectives called to fatal shooting on MLK

ST. LOUIS – Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a north city neighborhood Tuesday afternoon for a shooting.

According to a police spokesperson, the shooting occurred just before 4:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, located in The Ville neighborhood.

Police said the victim, identified as 40-year-old Larry Noel, was shot several times while sitting in a vehicle with four children. He was rushed to the hospital but later died.

A 9-year-old girl in the vehicle was injured by flying glass and treated at the scene. The other three kids-ages 10, 2, and 1-were not injured.
