ST. LOUIS, MO - A police pursuit Monday afternoon ended in a multi-car crash around 1:45pm at Kingshighway and Lindell in the Central West End.

The North County Police Cooperative was pursuing a vehicle that crossed into the St. Louis city limits where the crash occurred. A captain with the North County Cooperative says his department was assisting Pagedale with a traffic stop Monday afternoon when the driver of the car hops out of the car, yells, “He has a gun”, then hops back inside. Police say that the driver was the victim of a carjacking. The suspect then pushed the driver out of the car and then took off.

The North County Cooperative has a policy that if there is a dangerous felony taking place they will pursue and that’s what happened.  The suspect drove on Page from Sutter to Kingshighway then crashed.

Six vehicles were involved in the crash. The one that rolled over was driven by the suspect.  He had to rescued from the vehicle and is in critical condition at the hospital. Two other adult victims were taken to the hospital for injuries.

The intersection was closed while the crash was investigated and cleaned up.
