ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – They`re calling it One Nation, Under The Arch, with alumni games and fan favorites for all.

Today both teams announced the One Nation Classic to be held at Busch Stadium.

The NHL game between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues is a big deal on January 2nd.

But it`s just one event in a sweet series to be held in downtown that`s icing on the cake for both clubs.

One Nation Classic will start with a couple of public skate sessions and will end with a public skate inside Busch Stadium.

In between will be a skills competition with the St. Louis Blues and Saturday January 7th Youth Hockey Day.

Area hockey clubs will get to skate on the Busch Stadium Winter Classic ice rink.

Sunday January 8th is what`s sure to be a fan favorite to benefit Blues for Kids youth hockey efforts and Cardinals Care.

It`s the One Nation Classic.

Blues chairman Tom Stillman and Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III will lead their rag tag band of recruits in a game.

I saw hats and shirts showing up with both teams` logos in the blues team store inside Scottrade.

Today the Blues were promising some popular favorites when the puck drops for the one nation classic.

'Greatest pickup hockey game in the history of St. Louis,' says Steve Chapman, Group Vice President St. Louis Blues.  'Basically its Tom Stillman facing off against Bill DeWitt and it`s going to be a battle of former Blues players and Cardinals players and maybe a few celebrities.

But they`re going to battle at Busch Stadium and take home some bragging rights.'

The One Nation Classic will end with a police and fire game and a public skate to close the week-long festivities.

It will be a bragging rights kind of thing for both Tom Stillman and Bill DeWitt III.  They both skate with the St. Louis Blues alumni on a weekly basis and occasionally against each other in a friendly rivalry with much respect.
