Students raise almost $13,000 to support the family of fallen police officer

MEHLVILLE, MO (KPLR)- The Mehlville School District has raised nearly $13,000 for the family of slain St. Louis County police officer Blake Snyder.  Students from the district present a check for $12,989.70 to Backstoppers, Inc. on Monday.

Elementary schools students raised almost $8,000 by holding a Pajama Day. A high school powder puff football game raised around $2,000. The rest of the money came from individual donations from throughout the Mehlville district.

Elizabeth Snyder, Officer Snyder’s widow, was on hand for the check presentation.
