ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a 24-year-old woman Monday in connection with a recent burglary and robbery.

According to prosecutors, the suspect, identified as Kiauna Proudie, broke into the victim’s home through a back window. Proudie allegedly took the victim’s dog hostage and held a gun to its head.

The victim escaped the home after a brief struggle. The dog was unharmed.

Investigators were able to track Proudie down through DNA testing. Prosecutors said she confessed to the crime after being arrested.

Proudie was charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery. She remains jailed on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
