Stabbings leave one dead, 3 injured in Pulaski County MO

NEAR WAYNESVILLE, MO (KPLR) – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a quadruple stabbing that left one person dead.  The incident happened Sunday afternoon around 2:45 pm in the 25300 block of State Highway W, just a few miles from Waynesville, Missouri.

Deputies called to the scene discovered 37-year-old Yvonne Holmes, a resident of Pulaski County suffering from dozens of stab wounds on the front lawn of the residence.  She died a few minutes later at the scene.

Upon entering the residence, deputies also found 2 children, ages 2 and 12 suffering from multiple stab wounds.  A 38-year-old man was also found with stab wounds.

Authorities say Ms. Holmes had been at the residence visiting the children when she became delusional and took a butcher knife and started stabbing the children and man in the house.

The male occupant tried shield the children from Ms. Holmes, but was attacked suffering minor wounds.  He was treated at the scene and released.

The 2 children were transported to a trauma hospital for treatment.   Both are in serious condition, but are expected to survive.

Holmes ran from the house after the stabbings and began stabbing herself till she died.

The sheriff’s office credits the male occupant for protecting the children, and saving their lives.

An investigation is ongoing.
