CREVE COEUR, MO (KPLR) - BJC Healthcare is getting the green light to move forward with plans to transform the campus in West St. Louis County.

The hospital campus is located on 54 acres along Olive Boulevard about a mile west of 270.

Monday night, the Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission approved the general layout where the buildings, parking structures and landscaping will go.

Currently, the hospital is two stories, the new building would be four to six stories.

The proposed expansion would extend to the corner of Olive and Mason.

Some residents are worried about how the new plan would affect traffic along Mason Road.

The hospital will remain open while the new facility is built.
