AFFTON, MO (KPLR) - St. Louis County Police are looking for a tan 2007 Ford Focus with Missouri license plates DL6N2M.  Police say it is the vehicle that was stolen Saturday night during a carjacking at the Marlborough Trails Apartment complex in Affton.  A 27-year-old man was shot in the chest during the incident but is expected to be okay.

"Seeing the cop lights and then finding out it was a shooting it causes some worry and things like that" said Logan Shearburn who lives in the complex.  "Just trying to soak it all in not sure what to expect or think at this point".

Police say a man approached the victim in the parking lot of the complex Saturday night demanding the victim's keys and vehicle.  The suspect shot the victim in the chest, before driving off with the keys and the vehicle.  Residents, who saw the commotion, can't believe something like this happened so close to home.

"I saw a news van, then few people standing outside, I didn’t really think anything of it. I went about my business" said Jeff Vasquez who also lives in the complex.  "It just reminds you to stay on your toes and be aware of your surroundings" he said.  "It’s unfortunate that that happened but you guys bringing awareness to this issue might bring some awareness to this situation".

Police say if anyone sees the vehicle, they should contact law enforcement immediately.  Police do believe whoever is driving the vehicle is armed and dangerous.
