Dr. Ryan Pomajzl, orthopedic surgeon at SSM Health DePaul Hospital tells us the combination of repetitive use commonly referred to as “tennis elbow” or “shin splints” or “Achilles tendinitis” is really any type of muscle or joint injury cause by repetitive trauma. The problem happens from too much physical activity, too quickly.

Dr. Pomajzl recommends thinking long-term. Start little by little each day and build up. Decrease frequency and intensity. Use over the counter inflammatory medications to help.
