EUREKA, MO (KPLR) – As we inch ever so much closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas, the holiday theme is creeping up everywhere, even here at your favorite theme park.

At Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri, it's their very first holiday in the park and they're getting ready for the holiday season in a big way. If you're a fan of fire pits and smores, there will be plenty of them; 10 stations set up around the park.

Don’t forget 20 of your favorite thrilling rides will be open. There will be live animals at the majesty of Christmas live nativity scene and 12 holiday sections.

This is the first year for Holiday at the Park and they've been putting up lights all day long, more than a million on display. But they've been on a little bit of a time crunch because they had Halloween to deal with first.

'We started putting Christmas lights up on August 8,” Elizabeth Gotway said. “So while Fright Fest was going on, Holiday in the Park was actually going up. It's been a huge undertaking with one million lights and 400 decorated trees. It's just been amazing.”

The Palace Theatre is where they'll hold the Majesty of Christmas live nativity scene with seven animals and the Magic of Christmas with lights and fire will take place outside the Palace Theatre. The park is open that week between Christmas and New Year’s Day and overall from November 25 through January 1.
