Reward for information in shooting death of Maggie O’Brien’s owner grows to $35,000

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)- The cash reward continues to grow for information that will lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the homicide of Patrick McVey, an owner of the downtown Irish bar Maggie O’Brien’s. Anonymous members of the community have added up to $30,000 on top of the up to $5000 from CrimeStoppers.

To get the reward,  information must come in through the CrimeStoppers Tip hotline only, 866-371-8477.

On Wednesday, November 9, police received a call for a shooting on southbound I-55 at Loughborough shortly before 6:00pm.  The victim, Patrick McVey, 57, was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of his gray Ford Explorer on the side of the road. He had been shot and was reported dead at the scene.

Police believe this shooting happened between 2:30-2:40pm on Wednesday afternoon.
