Alton police investigating home invasion on Lindenwood Blvd.

ALTON, IL (KPLR) – Tuesday around 1:30 pm Alton police were called to the 300 block of Lindenwood Boulevard.  That's where a woman was held up at gunpoint by a man wearing a surgical mask who broke into the home. He was demanding to know about a bedroom belonging to the victim’s brother. At some point the woman was able to escape and run out the backdoor to Eunice Elementary School.  The suspect also fled.

According to police the suspects mask and some clothing was found minutes later in a nearby shed by police search dogs. Police are looking for a black male about 5.9" with short hair and a beard.

Family members say the victim is okay,  but very shaken up.
