ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - A crowd of people, some crying and some very angry showed up at a homicide scene in north city Saturday night.

One man was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was critically wounded and taken to the hospital where at last report he was in critical condition. The shooting happened on Sullivan near North Grand.

A car riddled with bullets was on Sullivan. Police covered it because a man was dead inside he had been wounded multiple times.  The other man who was hospitalized also suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  He apparently ran from the car and dropped to the ground in a nearby alley. Police do not think there was a rolling gun battle although they do think the car was targeted.  Police Captain Renee Kriesmann said, “We haven’t seen an increase of violence in this neighborhood we do have an occasional incident in this neighborhood.”

A large crowd gathered in the street. It appeared that several friends and family members of the victims arrived on the scene. Some were sobbing and overcome by grief others got into heated arguments. Police made sure it did not get out of hand.

While cops cleared that scene another man was shot in the backside in far north city near Hall Street and Prairie. He was taken to the hospital and he was conscious and talking.

At another shooting woman suffered a gunshot wound to her arm.  Police say she showed up at a hospital on her own.  It’s not clear where the shooting occurred.
