Alton police warn of Officer Snyder fundraising scam

ALTON, IL (KPLR) – With the tremendous outpouring of grief, sympathy, love, and donations in the wake of Officer Blake Snyder’s murder while on duty, scam artists are looking to make a quick buck.

The Alton Police Department issued an alert on its Facebook page Tuesday afternoon, warning people of a new scam involving people claiming to raise money on behalf of Officer Snyder.

St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder was killed on October 6 while responding to a disturbance call in Green Park. He was laid to rest in Godfrey, Ilinois on Thursday, October 13.
