img_3408(KPLR) – Genesis, a 20-month-old little girl from Honduras has returned home after receiving life saving heart surgery at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. You may remember India and Eric Johnson, newlyweds from the Metro East set up an online CrowdRise account and asked their wedding guests to donate money to help pay for the child’s treatments in lieu of gifts. They visited Genesis and her mom at the Ronald McDonald House before she left the Gateway City last Friday. World Pediatric Project, a non-profit that helps critically ill children in underdeveloped countries gain access to medical care made arrangements to bring Genesis to St. Louis and to send her and her mom back home. The child is expected to make a full recovery.
