(KPLR) - The democratic candidate for U.S. Senate from Illinois was in East St. Louis Monday.

Tammy Duckworth spent the day in Belleville Sunday and held a round table discussion in East St. Louis today.

She is on a week-long tour of the state talking about her vision for Illinois and the country.

She says investing in infrastructure is important to a vital economy.

Duckworth is opposing incumbent republican senator Mark Kirk in the November 8th election.
