WILDWOOD, MO (KPLR) – One Wildwood business owners fundraising plans for BackStoppers got a lot more personal when she found out her nephew, Officer Blake Snyder, had been shot and killed in the line of duty.

Nettie White owns the interior design shop, The Porch.

On October 5th White announced part of her proceeds from the grand re-opening of her shop would go to BackStoppers.

The very next day she got the news that her nephew, Officer Blake Snyder had been killed early that morning.

"I wouldn’t be able to function this Saturday for a party if it didn’t have Blake's name on it and that purpose behind it," said White.

White’s husband and two other close relatives are also police officers.

She said if you cannot make it to the fundraiser Saturday you can stop by The Porch at any time to drop off a donation that will go to BackStoppers.

St. Louis County police officers have put out an interactive map with dates and locations of fundraisers for Officer Snyder.
