Major Case Squad investigating homicide in Fairmont City IL

timothy-holcombFAIRMONT CITY, IL (KPLR) - The Fairmont City Police Department and Major Case Squad are asking the public for help after a man is found dead on the side of the road.

At around 3 am Friday morning the victim 46-year-old Timothy Holcomb was driving east on Collinsville Road near Highway 203 leaving the area of 9th and Winstanley in East St. Louis.  According to investigators the victim was in his gray 2006 Toyota Scion when at least three people including a male and female fired several shots into the car killing the victim who crashed into a waterway.

Police say they want the shooter(s) off the streets.  Investigators say surveillance video from near the scene has helped them get more details in the case. Police are looking for a light colored Buick or Oldsmobile with tinted windows and damage on the passenger side.
