School bus rear-ended on morning commute

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Several children had to be unloaded from their school bus Wednesday morning following an accident in a south St. Louis neighborhood.

The accident occurred around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Montrose Avenue and Lasalle Street, just south of Chouteau. A white pick-up truck rear-ended the bus.

The exact circumstances surrounding the accident were not immediately disclosed.

Ten students from the Academy of Environmental Science and Math Middle School (AESM) were on board the bus at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported.

Five people were inside the pickup truck. They declined to be taken to a hospital.

The school bus is operated by First Student. The bus sustained only minor damaged in the accident.
