ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-Building a strong character is a behavior that can be taught. CharacterPlus is helping to create strong school communities one student at a time.

Executive Director Julie Sperry and Superintendent of Belleville District 118, Matt Klosterman, joined us on the morning show to explain International Character Day and the program.

According the website, CharacterPlus is a global initiative to develop character strengths (empathy, grit, courage, and more) based on scientific research. The non-profit organization is committed to building strong school communities that instill positive character traits in students through character education.
