(KPLR) - A Fox 2 follow up on a pig rescue in Maryland Heights.  A St. Peters family is grateful for a Good Samaritan and a Maryland Heights police officer for safely putting Oscar the pig into a blanket.

Their little pig was found on the Page Extension Friday.

It turns out Oscar is a two-month-old family pet near and dear to the Stephen's family, especially daughter, Savannah.

The family was on a camping trip Friday afternoon, and packed the little porker in a kennel.

They stopped for gas in Maryland Heights and St. James, but didn't realize who was missing until arriving at Maramec Spring Park.

But on Wednesday everyone was reunited.

Savannah's mother said her daughter had a hard time sleeping last night anticipating her reunion with Oscar.
