ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Many medical conditions require surgery. Having an operation is serious business. Wouldn't it be great to have helping hands in the operating room?

Dr. Matt Smyth, a pediatric neurosurgeon with St. Louis Children's Hospital, visits KPLR 11 News at Noon to talk about how the hospital is the first in the region to get a ROSA robotic surgical assistant.

The robot can dramatically cuts surgery and recovery time. Dr. Smyth has used the robot in several surgeries since February to treat epilepsy and tumors.
