CHESTERFIELD, MO (KPLR) - Chesterfield Police hope the public can identify a man caught on surveillance video walking through a homeowner’s garage.

“First you’ll see the shadow. Then you’ll see the subject come in, and check the door handles of the vehicle,” Chesterfield Police Sgt. Keith Rider said.

Rider said the man, who appears to be in his early 20s, entered through an unlocked side door to a garage on Sunley Court. He is seen on video trying to open the doors to a parked vehicle.

The incident happened in the evening in early August. No arrests have been made.

It comes with a reminder to the general public to make sure all doors are locked to vehicles, homes, and garages. Break-ins and unlawful entries tend to happen in warm weather months, Rider said.

“Sometimes people do take comfort knowing they’re in a safe neighborhood, “he said.
