COLLINSVILLE, IL (KPLR) – The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office charged a 21-year old Fairview Heights man Monday in connection with a recent series of pizza delivery hold-ups in the area.

According to prosecutors, Anthony Scott robbed area pizza delivery drivers at gunpoint over the last few months.

The Collinsville Police Department first received a report of such a robbery on July 21, just before 12:30 a.m., in the 600 block of Lillian. A Domino’s Pizza driver said the order requested delivery to a residence on that street. When the driver arrived and approached the home, two people came up from behind and one of the individuals pointed a gun in the driver’s face. The suspects took the driver’s wallet, cellphone, and money made from deliveries.

On August 11, Collinsville police responded to a Domino’s Pizza in the 600 block of Vandalia Street just before 1 a.m. for another reported armed robbery. In this instance, the delivery driver told officers he was bringing pizzas to the 100 block of Locust Ridge when a person came up behind him with a gun and demanded his belongings. The suspect took the driver’s wallet and cellphone, as well as the pizzas and delivery cash.

Authorities from Collinsville, Fairview Heights, Caseyville, and Belleville all reported similar crimes in their jurisdictions and began a joint investigation into the crimes.

Scott and a second suspect, a 17-year-old, were arrested a short time later.

Scott was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. He remains jailed on $500,000 bond. Charges are still pending against the juvenile suspect.
