ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – It's 10 years to the day when the weather changed in a hurry at Busch Stadium.  On July 19th, 2006 the Cardinals were playing the Atlanta Braves when a powerful storm made its way through the area.

Some of you may remember video that showed a trash can blowing across the side of the stadium, fans being battered by high winds, and people running shelter.

During the storm some fans were injured, but that event forever change how the Cardinals prepared for severe weather and how to protect fans.

Today fans were aware of a severe weather alert issued for the St. Louis area.  Fans waited for over two hours to see if today's game schedule against the San Diego Padres would be played, but shortly after 9 pm the game was called and reschedule for Wednesday.
