(KPLR) – Imagine a summer camp where it only takes ten minutes to reach capacity with online registration.  Variety, The Children`s Charity did it with its Adventure camp this year.

One hundred and forty-three children are enrolled in two-week sessions and it`s fun. A summer camp in the truest sense, that 13-year-old Tara has been coming for seven years.

Specially trained counselors and medical professionals are there to help.  Each child is paired with two volunteers who guide the children with music, arts and crafts.

The 80-year-old organization relies on collaborations to make the camp work.   Nursing students from Goldfarb School of Nursing helped organize a carnival that challenged children with physical and developmental disabilities.

The camp helps the kids with indolence, socialization, and self-esteem.
