Firefighters dodge bullets from rolling gun battle in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - St. Louis Firefighters responded to a medical call in the 8500 block of Riverview. They were inside a home when a rolling gun battle between two cars went by. Firefighters and EMS workers took cover to avoid the gunfire and were not hit.

The Fire Department says there is no damage to their property.  They do not appear to be the intended target. Police are investigating the incident.

The St. Louis Police Department says that people in a black Nissan Altima were shooting at others in a light colored vehicle driving on south Riverview Tuesday afternoon.

The gun battle continued southbound on Riverview with the Altima crashing at Riverview and West Florissant where it was abandoned. The vehicle had been reported stolen.
