CASEYVILLE, IL (KPLR) - The Hollywood Heights, Illinois volunteer Fire Department needs your help for one of their own. Volunteer Firefighter and Medic Jason Berry is fighting cancer and needs a stem cell transplant.

His department is hosting a Be The Match Marrow Registry on Thursday, July 21st and you can help!

Thousands of patients battling leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers and severe sickle cell depend on this registry to find a donor who can give them a chance for a cure. Roughly 75% of the time donations are done through blood. About 25% of the time they're done through a surgical procedure.

It only takes 15 minutes and a cheek swab sample to join the registry.
