Immigrants become new US citizens in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Immigration services were held across the country Friday. New citizens were welcomed during nearly 100 naturalization ceremonies for 7,000 people. One of those ceremonies was held in downtown St. Louis.

Twenty four people took the oath of allegiance at the Old Court House in downtown St. Louis. The new US citizens say it is a celebration and fulfillment of their dreams.

A similar ceremony was held on Flag Day. Another is planned on "Citizenship Day" on September 17th. These new citizens will now be able to enjoy all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of US Citizenship.
