ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-One person was robbed at gunpoint overnight in a hold-up in the Central West End.

Police say the victim was robbed around 1 a.m. on Euclid Avenue near Washington Boulevard. Police say the victim, an adult male, was walking alone on the street when he was confronted at gunpoint by a male suspect.  Investigators believe an undetermined amount of money was taken from the victim. Fortunately, the victim was not hurt in this case.

The crime happened just blocks from where Tyrell Thompson was shot and killed two weeks ago during an attempted robbery at Olive and Walton.

Police say Thompson was walking with a female friend when they were confronted by two suspects with guns who were trying to rob them. Investigators say Thompson was trying to protect his friend when he was shot in the chest and back. He died at a hospital.

The suspects in that case took off in a dark colored vehicle. A reward has been offered in the Thompson killing.
