ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – A 4-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being shot in the head in North St. Louis. It happened around 8:45 Saturday evening near the corner of Blair and East Grand.

The 4-year-old boy was in the car with his father who was driving.  Another man was also in the vehicle.  Police said a second car pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and a man inside opened fire. One bullet did hit the boy in the head.  Saturday evening police said he was in very critical condition. No one else was injured.

The father drove his little boy to the hospital himself that’s when police were alerted to the shooting. Both cars were traveling on east grand when it happened.

Ten months ago a man was gunned down on Blair.

Ironically, Saturday night there was a party at Fairground Park to stop the violence.  The park is less than a mile from where the boy was shot in the head.  Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the St. Louis police department (314-444-5309) or CrimeStoppers (314-725-8477).
