Police looking for suspects in fatal CWE robbery

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the fatal shooting and robbery in St. Louis' Central West End that left 28-year old Tyrell Thompson dead. Police are still searching for the killers .

Family and friends said their final farewell Wednesday at New Life Christian Church on Florissant road. Tyrell Thompson took his final journey to his resting place as family members tried to hold back the tears.

Thompson was killed during an robbery last week in the Central West End.

"Random act of violence. He was on a date, they ran upon him and shot him, robbed him. It's not right to died die like that." said Ronnie Nolen.

Tyrell's death came just days after the anniversary of his father. Tyrone Thompson who died under the similar circumstances six years ago.

Tyrone was the president of the St. Louis Martin Luther King Jr. Non-Violence Support Group. He was a former police chief , state investigator , mentor to young adults and son of former Missouri State Representative Betty Thompson.

"He was just like his father. He would go out his way helping others." said cousin Alexander Baner.

Those who knew him are calling on everyone to end the violence. They are pleading for anyone with with information to come forward and help put the killer behind bars.

Anyone with information in the case should contact Crime Stoppers. There is currently a $5,000 reward being offered for information that leads to the arrest of subjects responsible.
