ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – Online petitions have become a way for people to stand behind an issue they’re passionate about, while drawing as many eyeballs to the topic as possible.

A fan wants the NFL to keep pro football in the City of St. Louis and is asking others to sign a petition on

The fan, who identifies himself as Mike Vlaiku, has received more than 500 signatures for his petition as of Wednesday morning. The petition will be sent to NFL Commissioner, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, and St. Louis Regional Sports Authority President Brian McMurty .

“For all the money that was paid to the NFL by St. Louis fans over the years and taxes paid for the stadium, it’s time for the league to show that they want to continue doing business with a city that has given them nothing but support since the beginning,” the petition reads.

Aaron Lincoln from St. Louis comments, “I’m a diehard football fan and was crushed to see the Rams go, I believe our city is too good for that and it’s just not the same in St. Louis for me without a team. Please bring the NFL back to St. Louis please!”
