ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – Changes are coming to Lambert St. Louis International Airport that will give you more options, and it all stems from additions made by Southwest Airlines.

For a company based out of Love field in Texas, you might start calling St. Louis their second home.

The icing on this cake might be made from fondant, but for Lambert Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebrugge these passengers are even sweeter.

Southwest has expanded service with new nonstop flights to Cleveland, Portland and Oakland beginning this week.

The Texas-based airline is also expanding their cargo warehouse and hiring more people in St. Louis.

Monday morning travelers arrived from Cleveland, while passengers partook in the new Portland nonstop flight.

Today’s expansion now gives Southwest 103 daily departures.
