EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KPLR) – More than a thousand new jobs are coming to the bi-state region as online retail giant Amazon plans to open a pair of fulfillment centers in Edwardsville.

According to our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the fulfillment centers (shipping warehouses) will be located at the Gateway and Lakeview Commerce Centers in Edwardsville and cover more than 700,000-square feet of space. One of the centers will house smaller items like toys and books, while the other building will hold larger merchandise such as TVs, kayaks, and sports equipment.

The jobs will be full-time and offer benefits.

Amazon said it will list managerial openings for the Edwardsville facilities on its website.
