Man shot near Busch Stadium – Police

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a late night shooting near Busch Stadium.

Witnesses said they spotted investigators at the scene of the shooting in the 900 block of Spruce Street around 10:30 p.m., within walking distance of the stadium, the Westin Hotel, and other bars popular hotspots.

Police said the victim was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital, where he’s been listed in stable condition.

However, witnesses tell Fox 2 News they saw homicide detectives at the scene, as well as a vehicle riddled with bullet holes being towed away. However, police are not discussing anything else about the case at the moment.

In the wake of several headline-grabbing incidents, St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson has promised to increase patrols around downtown as summer ramps up.
