St. Louis County police dispatchers experience brief communications outage

BALLWIN, MO (KPLR) – Monday night for about an hour, St. Louis County Police dispatchers were forced to work out of their office.  A problem at dispatching center in Ballwin forced dispatcher to work out of police cruisers and use handheld radios.

The problem started around 9 pm, but was resolved just after 10 pm.

Dispatchers continued work with computer aided dispatching while waiting for radio communications to be restored.

A spokesperson for the department said at no time was the public endangered or impacted by the outage.
