DEA asking the public to drop off unwanted medication this weekend

Capsules being counted, prescription drugs, pharmaceutical Graphics project

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is continuing its efforts to collect and destroy millions of pounds of unused prescription drugs. The program has been in place for the past five years.

The DEA invites the public to bring their potentially dangerous, unwanted medicines to one a collection site this weekend. This service is free of charge, with no questions asked.

The event takes place from 10am to 2pm Saturday. You can find a nearby collection site by visiting www.DEA.gov and clicking on the ‘Got Drugs?’ icon or call 1- 800-882-9539.
