ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Author Brandon Dempsey has a message for millennials leaving college and entering the work force: shut up and go! The message by Dempsey is a concept that you have to sometimes tell others or the voices in your head to just shut up so you can advance.
The message is also the title of Dempsey's new book, "Shut Up and Go!" The book is aimed at millennials, or those born between 1982 and 2004. Millennials make up more than 75 percent of Americans and are a larger living generation than baby boomers.
This morning the author of "Shut Up and Go!", Brandon Dempsey, sat down with Dan to talk about why this message is so important to millennials, and why they need to shut out negative influences holding them back.
Dempsey said millennials are characterized as extremely passionate about working and pursuing a cause- but aren't as concerned about making money. Dempsey also said many millennials aren't sure what to pursue as they have been told what to do all their lives.
"Shut Up and Go!" is a practical guide for millennials containing self-guided exercises and useful tips around time management, visioning and budgeting for the future.
