OVERLAND, MO (KPLR) – Missouri American Water crews are continuing to work on a water main break that caused a lot of problems for drivers at Page Avenue and Woodson.

At around 6pm the water started to run out of the ground and parts of the road and the intersection buckled. Overland police redirected traffic in all directions causing big delays. Officials at Missouri American Water say the main is 12 inches in diameter, one of the largest they have.

Crews patched up the road and will work throughout the night to fix the break. 3 of the 4 westbound lanes of Page Avenue will be closed on Woodson Road.  Only a few of the nearby businesses are affected. Crews are expected to finish up work by 8am Thursday morning.
