Man gunned down in north St. Louis while detailing his car

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - A shooting in broad daylight in the middle of the street in north St. Louis Tuesday afternoon. One man is dead.

Detectives say this was not a random shooting. The victim was definitely targeted and the search is on for two men.

The police orange barrier surrounded the body lying on Christian avenue near north Broadway in the Baden neighborhood. At least 15 yellow markers were placed where shell casings were found.

Several police officers and detectives quickly arrived at the scene shortly after 1:30 p.m. and began interviewing witnesses. Police said the male victim was out detailing his car, a white Mercedes, when a car drove up and two men got out and fired several shots.

Police say the two suspects drove away in an older model red Dodge Charger. Police are not releasing the victim`s name and age or talking about a motive.
