ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLRI)- Some people celebrated St. Patrick's day over the weekend with the parade downtown but today is the actual day, and there is a party about to start. The annual St. Patrick's Day parade is underway in Dogtown.

The parade starts at Tamm Avenue and Oakland and heads south on Tamm to Manchester Road. The Ancient Order of Hibernians has been sponsoring the St. Patrick's Day parade in Dogtown since 1984.

The parade starts at 12:30 p.m. but bars in the area open at 6 a.m..
Ancient order of Hibernian Irish War Pipers and the Honor Guard will lead the parade.

There is not much parking in Dogtown so parade organizers suggest parking on Manchester and walking up to Tamm.

Glass containers and coolers are banned from the parade area.
